All games start at 6pm unless stated otherwise
It’s a quiet Saturday in the capital with no games, and just two of our clubs in action. Army United will move up to fifth, albeit temporarily, if they can beat bottom club Siam Navy in Chonburi (TRUE 102), while TOT could reach the dizzy heights of eighth if they beat Sisaket away from home (TRUE 69). Amazing considering that they lost five in a row at the start of the season; their turnaround has been one of the unsung achievements of the season so far. Elsewhere on Saturday, leaders PEA can go provisionally nine points clear with a home win over second-bottom Sriracha (NBT 11), although second-place Chonburi will have two games in hand.
It’s a much busier Sunday in the top-flight with two derbies being contested in Bangkok. First up, at 4pm, Thai Port welcome BEC Tero Sasana to Khlong Toey (TRUE 102). The Port Lions are gradually turning things around on the pitch as things also become more settled off it. They are unbeaten in their last three games but visitors Tero, in fifth place, will likely provide sterner opposition than TTM Phichit did on Wednesday afternoon. The other derby is in Pathum Thani as fourth hosts third. Bangkok Glass have turned their season around and will move to within one point of opponents Police United if they win, while Police could move to within just one point of second place at the Leo Stadium with victory (TRUE 69). Not too far away in Nonthaburi, champions Muangthong United will be up into the top five if they can beat Khon Kaen and results elsewhere go for them (TRUE 102). Also on Sunday, Pattaya host Chonburi in an eastern derby (TRUE 161), Chiang Rai United travel to Saraburi to play Osotspa (T-Sports) and TTM Phichit are at home to Samut Songkhram (NBT 11).
While Buriram might be lauding it in the TPL, at least Bangkok currently has bragging rights in Divison 1 with BBCU topping the table. They host Chainat FC at the Army Stadium in Din Daeng on Saturday, while Rajpracha host Chainat at Mahidol University (4pm) and JW Rangsit welcome Saraburi F.C to the Thupatemi Stadium in Pathum Thani (4pm). And on Sunday, Bangkok United are at home to Thai Honda, and RBAC entertain Customs Samut Prakan (4pm).
