Regent Phuket Cape Panwa
Sat on the corner of one of the most beautiful spots in Pkuket, Regent Phuket Cape Panwa offers peace and tranquility
Overview: Sat on the corner of one of the most beautiful spots in Pkuket, Regent Phuket Cape Panwa is the latest luxury resort offering peace and tranquility in the deep south of the island, going up against the likes of the ever-popular Sri Panwa and Cape Panwa Hotel.
Rooms: The resort features 22 Pavilions and 48 Suites, each with its own sea-facing balcony and 35 extremely spacious pool villas overlooking the ocean. Aside from the usual mod-cons you’d expect from a five-star hotel, each room comes with an iPad and a welcoming bottle of wine.
Facilities: The décor has a natural elegance, with most furniture and ornaments made from fossilized woods and heavily inspired by traditional Phuket Sino-Portuguese architecture. The Regent Spa has a terrace pavilion where guests can do yoga or tai chi while facing the Andaman Sea. Exclusively for Pool Villa guests, the Regent Club offers breakfast, afternoon tea and an infinity swimming pool. Their beachside area also offers a long table where you can sip a drink under shady trees.
Dining: There are two dining options here, The Restaurant and The Grill. The former is an all-day dining venue serving up contemporary European-Asian cuisine. The Grill, meanwhile, has a rooftop dining terrace overlooking the ocean and nearby islands. Seafood lovers can get their fix through the recommended tasting platter which includes grilled prawn gazpacho, single malt whiskey cured salmon, raw tuna and blue crab ravioli and pan seared foie gras (B800).
Rave: The lobby has a seriously impressive view around the cape as you can stand in front of the giant infinity pool overlooking the horizon. Spread across the tip of Cape Panwa, the whole resort has a nice green pathway overlooking the vast Andaman Sea. It’s also only 15 minutes away from the charms of Phuket Town.
Rant: The serene setting comes at a cost: the neighborhood isn’t exactly packed with attractions and activities, unless you really seek them out. Their private beach is pretty rocky at low-tide, too. Some facilities aren’t quite prepared for heavy rain as we came across a few leaks here and there.
Rates: Through Dec 22, Pavilion rooms start at B8,888, suites at B12,888 and pool villas at B20,888. Book 30-45 days prior and enjoy a discount of up to 20 percent.
