Ibis Hua Hin
The buzz: One of the newest budget lodges in Hua Hin is Sat right next to Chivasom and not far from the bustling Cicada Market. The L-shaped building, hugging a swimming pool, houses 200 rooms on six floors with four room types: standard rooms with double or twin beds; family rooms with double beds and bunk beds; suites, featuring two standard rooms and a living area; and even rooms for guests with disabilities. All rooms are in keeping with Ibis’ standard décor: simple and compact.
Food and drink: It’s All About Taste restaurant is the only option serving all-day dining. And though its daily buffet breakfast is served from 6-10am, some continental selections are actually available beginning at 4am and running until noon. There’s a 24-hour bar but they stop serving alchohol after 11pm.
Good: The opening of Ibis Hua Hin is ideal for those who are looking for budget rooms in the popular beach town with a trusted standard. It’s particularly well-suited to travelers who spend more time outside than in their hotel rooms (but still want clean bed sheets). The location is right on the main road, close to Cicada Market, Hua Hin Market Village and both floating markets. And though it doesn’t have a beachfront location, it’s only five-minute walk to the sea.
Bad: If beachfront location really matters to you, this is probably not your pick. There’s limited parking, especially on weekends, so you need to park your car at a designated space opposite the hotel.
Rates: Introductory rates are from B1,080 for a standard room—one of the best deals you can find in Hua Hin. Top Koaysomboon
