Sala Rattanakosin Hotel
Depending on who you follow on Instagram you might have seen plenty of check-ins at a riverside restaurant with a stunning view right across from Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) in recent weeks. That would be SALA Hospitality Group’s newest property, Sala Rattanakosin, which calls itself a restaurant with guestrooms. Half of the renovated four-story building is dedicated to fine wining and dining, courtesy of Chef Tony Wrigley, who whips up some pretty impressive Thai food. The design sees remaining traces of the original building (think the unfinished walls at Q Bar's Le Derriere) accompanied by a minimal black-and-white theme, which extends to all 15 rooms. There’s also a rooftop bar where you can sip house-blended cocktails with a view. Hold out for more details in the coming issues of BK. During this opening period, The 1 cardholders get 15% off food and drinks, while rooms (B3,100-9,000) are buy-one-night-get-one-night-free—making for a good staycation deal by the river.
