SINGAPORE VENUE

Clarke Quay

Clarke Quay is named after Sir Andrew Clarke, who, as Singapore’s second Governor from 1873 to 1875, played a key role in positioning the colony as the main port in the region. It wasn't long before industrious stevedores and hardworking Samsui women filled the streets and enterprising hawkers packed the alleyways with their wares. Today, Clarke Quay is still buzzing with life and activity. The waterfront godowns (warehouses) now play host to a colorful array of restaurants, bars and entertainment hot spots.
