SINGAPORE RESTAURANT

Tanjong Beach Club

Modeled after a 1950s beach resort, the club comes complete with a pool, great beach views, two bars, a restaurant and plenty of chillout spaces. There are also cool cocktails like the Tanjong Sling (a refreshing concoction of vodka, lychee, kaffir lime, elderflower and apple juice) to go with the upscale bistro grub.

The buzz: Finally! After months of deliberation over the food concept, the restaurant wing of hip hangout Tanjong Beach Club is now ready to serve.

The vibe: A cross between a Happy Days era beach diner and somewhere classy on the French Riviera, the décor here follows mid-century modernist aesthetics—but the overall vibe is more casual, relaxed and convivial, although you’ll still want to mind your table manners when you’re here.

The food: Expect upscale beach pub grub at this joint such as potato crisps with blue crab dip, truffle fries and the gourmet burger with USDA prime beef, cheddar, tomato, red onion, and shredded lettuce; served with a side of fries. Yum.

Why you’ll be back: Chef Maseiro aimed to create at least a few dishes that people would crave. And he’s succeeded. Plus, this is a great weekend dinner venue after a day’s partying right outside.
