Robuchon Rides In
Just when you thought things were starting to cool down on the dining front, another culinary heavyweight has opened not one, but two restaurants at Resorts World Sentosa. Yes, Michelin star‐ studded Joël Robuchon has finally decided that it is time to expand his illustrious stable of dining establishments to include Singapore’s L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon and Joël Robuchon Restaurant. Check back next week for more details.

Spanish Conquest
If you’ve been paying any attention, you’ll know that Bilbao Restaurant & Gastrobar is THE place to get your hands on Estrelle Damm Inedit beer. Check out our resident boozehound, Kurt Ganapathy’s new column, Alcohol Adventures for more. We’d also like to give the good folks at Bilbao props for taking things in their stride. Despite receiving a critical restaurant review from us a while ago, they’re still supporters of I‐S, and have taken real steps to improve things. Others might be tempted to handle things in a less gracious manner, but not them. And, for what it’s worth, their patio is one of the city’s best‐kept secrets.

Closing Time
After two weeks of non‐stop wining and dining, 2011’s World Gourmet Summit has finally come to a close. A noteworthy meal was had at Stellar, where we sampled some of chef Antony Worall Thompson’s delicious fare including roast scallops with black pudding, saffron‐scented quinoa risotto and aged Angus beef with crushed artichokes and oyster hollandaise. We had a ball of a time chatting with chefs like Brent Savage and Christopher Millar at 1‐Altitude Gallery & Bar. In fact, it was chef Thompson’s big 6‐0. Happy Birthday Antony! Remember, age is just a number.
