Volks brings New York-style bagels to Ari and beyond.
Launched by siblings and recent graduates Sherry and Volk Jensiriwanch—the latter of whom spent two years studying baking and pastries at the Culinary Institute of America—Volks brings New York-style bagels to Ari and beyond.
According to the duo, the idea for the shop began during their 14-day quarantine after they returned to Thailand, while they wrapped up their university courses online. The store blended their affinity for design and baking, through minimal-yet-striking packaging and classic boiled-and-baked bagels. The menu initially included just cookies, like the dark chocolate chunk (B60). It quickly expanded to a small selection of bagels and bagel sandwiches, like the smoked salmon and capers (B250) and caprese (mozzarella cheese, cherry tomatoes and basil, B220), served on black or white sesame seed, crispy onion and Asiago cheese bagels (from B60). Those have rapidly propelled them to accolades online.
The menu also features a selection of flavored cream cheese spreads (from B30), like wasabi or the Mediterranean-redolent fig and black pepper.
Volks currently operates a pick-up store at the end of Pradiphat 13 (Tue-Sun, 9am-2pm) and a pop-up store at Oakwood Residence Sukhumvit 24 (daily, 9am-7pm).
