“Comfort food” that's far from typical in Phloen Chit.

Why should a restaurant specializing in dishes from all regions of the kingdom find itself here? For one simple reason: the extra-juicy, spice-rich sai oua (Chiang Mai sausage). Rather than importing it from the north, the owners here follow their own recipe, ensuring a juicy and unique flavor found no place else. A glistening gold and red sign welcomes you into the two-level space, where other dishes range from noodles with baby pork ribs in Isaan tom saap (spicy soup) to Chiang Mai deep-fried pork belly, as well as a number of southern dishes.

Thai comfort food specialist Thai Niyom has a new home in Phloen Chit.
Patrons of Jubei, the izakaya that once occupied the space, will recognize the clean, light-wood bar and backlit shelving.
The real change is in the kitchen, where Kasama "Ao" Laopanich cooks up “comfort food” that's far from typical.
Take the stir-fried raw papaya noodles with minced pork (B125), a crispy-chewy and fresh melange that goes nicely with Jasmine rice (B25).
