BANGKOK RESTAURANT

Buster's Fish & Chips

Phrom Phong welcomes a British-owned chippy.

The Brits of Bangkok are descending on Buster’s for its comforting line-up of beer-battered fish and chips (B330 for Pacific cod or sea bass; B370 for halibut), artisan pies (chicken tikka masala, B180; wagyu beef and onion, B185) and desserts like apple pie and banoffee pie (both B140). For the real deal, pair your meal with mushy peas (B50) and pickled onions (B40), or order chips (a.k.a. "steak fries" if you must; B110) and buttered bread (B50) to make a carb-tastic chip butty.

Alongside classic beverages like cider (B160), local beers (B80) and tea (B45), you’ll find more upscale choices like wine (from B150/150ml), soju (B250) and milkshakes (B95). With its black-and-white checkerboard floor and edgy red-and-black tiled walls, the narrow chip shop packs in a handful of tables for dine-in and also offers take-away and delivery (Line: @bustersbkk). Check out their Facebook page for regular specials like lasagne and shepherd’s pie.
