Bangkok Supper Club

This chef's table-style dinner is all about good food and good company.

There’s no such thing as a lonely meal at Bangkok Supper Club, a pre-booked, chef's table-style dinner by English chef Davina Pickering.

Pickering, who last crossed our radar with her menu at cafe-cum-fashion shop WWA, has teamed up with owner Susan Jones to bring us a dining concept that’s all about good food and good company.

This venture has made a home of a shophouse sparsely decorated with Edison-bulb chandeliers and fresh flowers, a single, long dining table taking center stage. Despite the cool appearances, the place has a warm vibe, perhaps the result of the steady breeze kicking through (they forgo air-con for the greener alternative of fans).

Each meal requires a 3-4 days' advance booking, time for Pickering to prepare her ingredients for a wholesome, six-course meal. Depending on the night, dinner might start with a shot of green pea soup and crispy maple-candied bacon. This is followed by a mouthwatering tray of bread topped with beetroot hummus and caramelized hazelnuts, and bite-sized slices of cauliflower pizza. For the main course, there’s 24-hour-marinated beef with roasted, mustard-marinated baby carrots.

The price is set at B3,000 per person, which includes free-flow wine and cocktails.
