SINGAPORE RESTAURANT

The Lokal

Neil Road's addition comes in the form of an Aussie-esque bistro and coffee joint serving up Sarnies java and hearty brunch dishes.

Our favorite thing about brunch at this hip Aussie cafe on Neil Road is the Pimp My Brunch option, where you can load up your choice of toast with things like smoked mackerel, grilled sausage, wilted spinach and homemade ricotta. Their kale salads, toasted banana bread and pulled pork with kimchi are great, too.

This chillout cafe adds to the diversity of hip joints on Neil Road. The white and blue color scheme with wooden accents may only perpetuate the hipster stereotype, but with tons of coffee from Sarnies (from $4) and cool tea infusions like orange, cinnamon & rooibos and green, lemongrass & ginger, we're hard-pressed to find a cooler definition.

They've also got pretty legit food offerings like veal schnitzel burger ($28), roast beef on rye ($17) and Sunday brunch dishes like pork belly breakfast burgers ($23) and toasted banana bread with caramelized bananas, vanilla yogurt and macadamia ($12) courtesy of Aussie chef Darren Farr.
