Bryter Layter Cafe
In the historic area Arun Amarin, across the river from Phra Arthit, the cozy and cool Bryter Layter Cafe is a hipster's wet dream.
Named after a classic album from 60s folk singer Nick Drake and owned by the same folks behind the very hip vintage store The Trapeze Swingers on Phra Arthit, the newly renovated shophouse just opened up this week.
Crate-diggers will find old vinyls (mostly jazz, blues, roots, soul and 80s-90s Thai pop, starting from B100), retro decorative items from far-flung places like the US, Mexico and Peru, old photo books and magazines, and all sorts of eclectic bric-a-brac.
Stick around for a cold Singha, Hoegaarden or Heineken in hand (from B80). And if all that makes you hungry, grab one of the savory dishes (B65-B85) like the spicy salad with tuna or spicy wings, to enjoy at one of the few tables sat outside.
