Dear MR KIA,
My girlfriends and I are thinking of a girls’ night out party that doesn’t involve tacky karaoke bars or boring restaurants. We’d like somewhere where we can get pampered from head to toe. Do you know of any places?—Party Princess

Dear PP,
There are a couple of places you can go to for your giggly girls’ night out party. The Pink Parlour (#03-19 Orchard Central, 181 Orchard Rd., 6100-8266) offers the Mini Hens Party package, for any occasion (not just hen parties as the name might suggest). You and your girlfriends can get pampered with facials, pedicures, massages or even have your bikini lines waxed, and use the spa there for about two to three hours. Finger foods such as bruschetta and a selection of deli meats are part of the package. You’ll also get a free flow of grape cordials. If you prefer something more laid-back, opt for their Movie Night package where you can bring your own DVDs or choose from their in-house collection. Popcorn, pedicures and foot massages are included in the deal. Reservation a week in advance is required. You should also give Polished Divas Nail Lounge (Bugis Village, 237B Victoria St., 6339-7646) a ring to find out about their Girls Night Out and Pajama Party packages—apart from hand and foot spa and nail services, you’ll get to pig out on chocolate fondue, crisps, cheeses and juices.
