Six Senses Hideaway
In short: An eco-friendly honeymoon paradise.
Six Senses is clearly in the luxury bracket but their private villas can come as something of a shock—no air-con in the bathroom, roughly hewn wood and a very simple design. But this is the experience you’re paying so dearly for: Top-notch five-star service, modern comforts and the feeling that it’s all happening in huts nestled within a remote jungle perched above the sea. Despite the fairly simple villas, Six Senses has some of the island’s most remarkable design features, like the massive infinity pool that drops vertiginously as it overlooks an unspoiled sea.
Hot: The amazing views, especially from the top class Dining on the Rocks restaurant where the wooden platforms seem to jut out into the air.
Not: While Six Senses steers clear of honeymooner tackiness, it’s still designed for those wishing to hole up: Access to the beach is tricky (it involves a drive and walk) and you’re pretty far from civilization.
$ Pool villas are $1,000-1,450 depending on season. Presidential Villa starts from $4,350 per night.
