A Clay Cafe
This photogenic cafe on the backstreets of Sathorn also hosts ceramics workshops.
Taking over a grand townhouse dating back to the ‘80s, A Clay Cafe has already hit a nerve with Chong Nonsi’s office hordes.
The wood and tile-heavy design courtesy of architecture team Physicalist gives off a classy, mid-century modern vibe in which to enjoy dirt-cheap coffee (B40-55), herbal teas (including yanang leaf with pandan or bael, okra and jujube, each B45) and light snacks. These bites span both sweet (a classic raspberry muffin, B30) and savory (the hefty Chinese pastry with salted egg yolk lava, B50).
The ground-floor and mezzanine are geared at hosting ceramics workshops (see www.fb.com/aclaycafe for schedule), but head upstairs and you’ll find a cozy, sofa-strewn space where sun streams in through eye-catching round windows. Those quirky cups and other ceramics you see around the place are for sale, too.
