BANGKOK VENUE

Knock BKK

Possibly Bangkok's top spot for cult kicks is also a restaurant.

After Sapporo Japanese Bar relocated to the other side of Thonglor, the three-story shop-house between J Avenue and Badmotel was taken over by new hands who have turned it into something altogether different.

The chef behind Badmotel and Beer Bridge, Chalee Kader, has partnered with a group of fellow sneaker addicts to open a restaurant-slash-sneaker marketplace called Knock BKK.

Downstairs serves Western comfort food with a mix of American and French influences, like fried chicken waffle cup cake (B260), Shrimp Po’Boy, (fried prawns on sourdough, American relish and tartare, B350), and chicken thighs with old bread, chorizo, rosemary, oil and fennel salad (B390). Try dark chocolate and fresh fig tart with milk chocolate chantilly (B240) for dessert.

Located on the third floor of the building, Knock BKK’s shopping side is all about cult kicks, from Nike Jordan to Nike Air, while other brands such as Adidas, Asics, Puma and Reebok are planned for the near future. They also have a really well-produced website for online orders, which they say will be delivered in two days. Prices range from B3,300-22,000.
