SINGAPORE BAR

Lucky Bar

Cantonese-inspired rooftop bar at Holland Village serving Asian dishes and cocktails

Holland Village's Canto-pop bao place Full of Luck Club has added a secret little rooftop bar to the top of its building, accessible only through a secret entrance in the back alley. The decor and menu, of course, extend that Chinois-chic thing, along with fairy lights, walls plants and date-night lighting.

Drinks are concocted by Darren Lim, whose list packs some punches as well as some kitsch. Try the curious Dragon’s Breath, a potent blent of High West Campfire whisky and mezcal mellowed out with goji and wintermelon syrup and fresh lemon ($22), and the more classic Baccarat, with Cognac, Jamaica rum, orgeat syrup and aged bitter whisky barrel ($22).

Best-selling signatures from Full of Luck Club downstairs are also available for when you're feeling nibbly: duck spring rolls with hoisin sauce ($7.50), golden sand corn with salted egg yolk ($6.80) and braised pork belly bao with lettuces, pickled lotus roots and fried shallots ($6 each; $9.80 for two), among others. Don't miss their cute One Ton Nachos, with fried wonton skin, Chinese-style pulled pork, pineapple, melted cheese and sour cream topping ($12).
