The buzz: Sukhumvit Soi 11 can be a wild place and it attracts a certain kind of person. Havana Social can be super fun but packed, so the opening of One Two Two bar in front of Havana’s tiny soi is a welcome addition—whether you’re there for their disco tunes or want to pregame before Havana.

 

The vibes: There’s a fine line between vintage and eerie and—we are not gonna lie—One Two Two is making us wonder. This bar is supposed to bring you back in time to 1920s Paris, with the bar perched in the middle of the room ensconced by red and carpet. The second floor offers even more red, as well as comfortable, loungey couches while the speakers play French classics like Daft Punk’s Around The World and Justice’s DANCE. DJs play disco from 11pm onwards every night. 

 

The drinks: The drinks here are not what you think for typical Soi 11 drinks. They’re actually decent. If you like something strong but sweet and soft, try the classic Boulevardier with a chocolate twist; Coco Boulevardier mixes cocoa nib infused Dewares 8 Years, Campari bitters, Carpano Antika Formula Sweet Vermouth and is topped with orange peel and milk chocolate (B390). For something easy drinking and refreshing, the Midori Symphony (Roku gin, yuzu puree, Midori, lime juice, egg white, Thai basil lemon bitters, B390) is the one to go for. Lovers of smokiness can’t miss the Smoke On The Water, a mix of Flor de Cana 12 Years, Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur, Grand Marnier, Mr. Black Coffee Amaro, Chocolate bitters, and topped with a cherry wood smoke bubble that makes a big difference for the drink (B420). The menu changes every few months; next, look out for a vermouth-focused menu.

 

Why we’d come back: Considering its location, the drinks game here is pretty strong, and their choice of disco and French favorites instead of Soi 11’s EDM crowd makes this a place to return.
