The buzz: Superflow City Beach Club aims to bring a beach party vibe to sleepless Khao San Road. The square that was formerly home to True Coffee has been revamped into a brand-new open-air, daytime lounge slash nightclub. Fear not, the legendary antique coffee shop Fabulous Dessert and Bar is still there, while the colonial-style house is now home to Tom Yum Kung Restaurant, for those looking for an all-day dining options.

The decor: Walk through the passage off the main Khao San strip, and you may feel as though you’ve stumbled upon a vibrant beach resort. The owner, who spent 12 years in the Ibiza party scene, aims to present a similar party atmosphere, beginning with the decor. The sandy semi-outdoor lounging area features a bar underneath a beachy thatched roof, while a DJ tower deck sits at the center of the square, providing plenty of space to get your groove going. On the other side of the square is a larger lounge, with flamboyant artwork by British artist Paul Kirk splattered on the wall. There’s also a set of swing-bench tables for those who only want to dangle their toes in the sand.

The music: Expect laid-back house and reggae music during the day. Come nightfall, you’ll experience a different daily themed party, from Monday Lollipop, In Touch with Ibiza Wednesdays, electro house on Fridays and Ibiza-inspired In Bed with Space parties on Saturdays, curated by their rotating resident DJs. They’re planning to bring in big-name local and international DJs, too.

The crowd: After-work professionals after a laid-back alternative to the Thonglor party scene, as well as fresh-off-the-boat travelers looking to kick back in the big city. During the day, you can expect a crowd of all ages, from families to university students, due to the range of dining and drinking options inside the complex.

The food: Inspired by Spanish tapas, the kitchen team led by Chef Pisarut, who also looks after Tom Yung Kung restaurant, serves up bite-sized Thai-fusion options ranging from deep-fried prawn cakes served with sweet sauce, Thai style shrimp cocktail flavored with herb, and mussel with chili paste and basil leaves. You have the option of picking three to five items (B189-B249), and they’ll be nicely presented in one serving platter, making for great drinking food. Highlight mains include the creatively presented (and surprisingly fiery) Tom Yum Kung fried-rice (B180) and pineapple fried rice (B180). Seasonal tapas and cocktail pairing options are coming soon.

The drinks: On top of the basic beer options like Singha (B120) and Asahi (B120), they’ve also got a pretty long list of decently priced cocktails, starting from B180. Signature options include the Superfly by Superflow (vodka, strawberry liqueur, apple juice and peppermint) and black mojito glass buckets (B300). As part of the opening promotions, they’re running daily happy hours from 7-9pm when B250 gets you free-flow cocktails. Other deals include B90 Singha bottles and B90 vodka and mixer.
