BANGKOK BAR

FFF

The buzz: This former hostess bar, located in a small compound at the beginning of the soi, just turned into a genuine club for those who want to dance all night long. As WTF did before it, the acronym FFF has no particular meaning, or rather is open to any combination of F-words you can come up with. Following on from Kacho Bar at Imperial Queen’s Park Hotel is this the sign that Sukhumvit Soi 22 is becoming a new party spot?

The décor: The exterior design is a traditional Thai house on stilts, all made from wood painted in black. Colorful cushions brighten up the simple wooden seats on the balcony which is pretty chill for a pre-party chat before heading inside to dance. There the mood changes dramatically, with an industrial design, a big round open bar in the middle and naked bulbs dangling from the ceiling.

The music: International hits like Rihanna’s “We Found Love” and Jessie J’s “Price Tag” as dance remixes (think Silom Soi 2, but more electronic and with louder beats).

The crowd: Young professionals and some chic executives.

The price: Head to the bar for your favorite cocktails at B240 a drink or try their signature F for Fresh (sweet, sour and refreshing rum, lime and blue syrup) or Fun for Fun (sweeter and stronger with gin, rum, vodka and Curacao). Whiskey is available at B180-300 by the glass (from B1,600 a bottle). You can even get Korean Sochu by the bottle (B300). Outside, the bar serves food from the Thai restaurant next door.

Why you’ll come back: This small place is really good for some serious, late partying. This is our kind of clubbing, with no bullshit and no pretense. Knock back a couple drinks, go wild and have some frickin’ fantastic fun. Vasachol Quadri
