BANGKOK BAR

The Club

The buzz: The biggest club on Khao San has been revamped to make it even more dazzling.

The décor: An impressive light and laser system plus a paneled grid of flat screens make The Club more impressive than anywhere else on Khao San. Two separate bars (with a third soon to open) mean you never have far to go to get a drink. If you’re not on the dance floor (and why wouldn’t you be?) there’s an assortment of couches and chairs to chill on. The large bed style couches are pretty stylish (apart from the cigarette burns). If you come during one of the monthly Full Moon Parties, expect deckchairs, beach umbrellas, and a dance floor covered with sand.

The music: Almost every night of the week there’s a different style of dance music being played, with an emphasis on techno and trance, but electro and d’n’b all get deck-time, too.

The crowd: On weekdays, the place is filled with farang backpackers in shorts, but on the weekends it’s 70% Thai. Don’t come hoping to show off how rich you are though: the atmosphere is fun and friendly, ripe for partying, not being serious.

The price: There's a happy hour every night of the week. Ladies get a free welcome cocktail on Thu. Fri and Sun see B100 drinks from 11pm-1am.

Why you’ll come back: To get down and dance, or maybe to pick up a beautiful stranger from a foreign land.
