BANGKOK BAR

Cinema Wine House

A brunch spot, wine bar and film screening lounge all rolled into one colonial-style shophouse in the old town.

Opened mid-July, Cinema Wine House is a combination of brunch spot, wine bar and film screening lounge that’s set in a colonial-style shophouse in the old town.

The menu, provided by nearby Chomp, offers Western dishes like steaks and pastas through to Asian options like satay. Booze is very pocket-friendly with house wine starting from B90 by the glass, while Leo (B70), Singha (B80) and Phuket beer (B110) round out the limited beer selection.

The real highlight is up on the second floor with the cinema lounge. Similar to Sukhumvit Soi 22’s Friese-Greene Club, reservations are required and you can check the weekly screening schedule on the bar’s Facebook page.

Films are mostly mainstream classics like Stardust and As Good as it Gets and newer picks like Midnight in Paris and The King’s Speech.
