BANGKOK BAR

Bob Harley Bar

A ramshackle reggae-indebted bar in Udomsuk.

Run by British writer Kirsty Turner and her Thai partner who previously operated a beachside bar on Koh Samed, Bob Harley brings a ramshackle reggae-indebted flavor to Udomsuk. Yod’s dreadlocks alone foretell a soundtrack of Bob Marley and Thailand’s T-Bone, along with glow in the dark wall paint and lots of red, green and yellow.

Here, you’ll also find some of the cheapest cocktails and beer along Sukhumvit with concoctions like Malibu Beach (Malibu rum, orange juice, pineapple juice and grenadine syrup) starting at B100 and Black Magic Woman (blue curacao, tequila, vodka, grenadine syrup, lime and pineapple juice) going for a mere B150. (Leo and Singha are B50, while San Miguel Light is B80).

It’s also the setting for occasional events like Bangkok Lyrical Lunacy and Wednesday writer meet-ups.
