BANGKOK BAR

BeerVault

The buzz: Four Points by Sheraton makes its debut in Thailand and its bar, BeerVault, is keeping things simple and sleek. This place really is a mine for imported brews, boasting 48 bottled beers from 12 different countries and six draught beers, five of which are imported. Oh, and did we mention that they have more than 10 speciality glasses to fit their selection of imported beers?

The décor: Located on Sukhumvit Soi 15, BeerVault offers a chic atmosphere without any pretentious glitz and extravagance. Its interior features the black leather furniture and color-changing LED in the middle of the bar. The ground floor is overseen by an intimate upstairs section with a flat screen and sofas to plonk on. There are also a few tables located outside on a small patio if you don’t mind the mosquitos.

The music: While there is hope of getting a DJ in the future, you can expect to hear whatever pop and hip hop is popular with the masses.

The crowd: At the moment, it’s mostly Sheraton guests, but the prices are moderate enough to compete with other spots close by, not to mention the vast array of imported beers, which potentially draws in local business types.

The price: Local beers B100, import draught beer B130/230 (half pint/pint), imported bottles B200-280, shandies B200, wine B300 (per glass) and cocktails B250-350.

Why you’ll come back: Certainly an indispensable ingredient to any lover of hops. Carissa Devine
