Bangkok Dry
A pokey little joint from the folks behind Witch's Tavern.
When Witch’s Tavern, the popular watering hole on Thonglor, shut down a couple of years ago, the owners turned their attention to their cafe, Witch’s Pie Factory, first located on Ekkamai and now on Sukhumvit Soi 65. Now they’re back in the booze business with this pokey little joint right next to the pie shop.
You can still expect a semi-haunted-house vibe thanks to decorations kept from the old bar, as well as some huge liquor shelves. One of the owners is a big fan of gin, which you can tell not only from all the bottles of Hendrick’s and Tanqueray, but also from his homemade spirits (there’s a little distilling machine out the back). Take a spot at the counter and try his gin with tonic and a slice of mango and black pepper (B240) or in the Bangkok Dry Negroni (B280).
It’s seemingly always filled with locals chewing the fat with the talkative owners, making it just the kind of bar you’d like on your own soi.
