Nine Seven Nine
Buzz: In line with its new artsy concept, Siam Center has unveiled its own niche multi-label store named after its building number, Nine Seven Nine.
Vibe: Raw with futuristic touches, like a giant pop-up store: plain white décor, bare ceilings, white container plates used as walls, spiral lamps hanging down and jackets displayed in glass showcases.
Goods: You can expect products from over 10 urban brands, a mixture of niche international labels and local names: t-shirts from Comme des Garcons from B3,900, accessories from Nixon from B1,190, minimal-geometric tops from rising label The Only Son from B2,550, and Big City series sneakers from American shoe manufacturer Be&D from B5,200. Accessories from Ek Thongprasert and clothing from T by Alexander Wang are expected in-store soon.
Why you’ll come back: Prices here are obviously high, but the shop does carry lots of higher-end niche brands, some of which are only available here. And if you can’t find what you’re looking for, make sure to check again as their products are regularly updated and they do stock up on limited and rare finds. Nutthachai Bunluthangthum
