High-end British furniture brand Alexander & James, renowned for its beautifully handcrafted traditional sofas and chairs rooted in British heritage, has opened its first Asian flagship store here in Bangkok. 

Located on Sukhumvit Soi 39, the picturesque two-story teal blue showroom houses stunning collections of sofas upholstered in 100-percent natural premium leathers, rich wools and soft velvet fabrics from William Morris, while all wood materials used are said to be sourced from sustainable forests from around the world—Thailand included. 

The armchair range is also not to be overlooked, coming in an array of handsome and chic designs, from classic Chesterfield-style buttoning wing chairs to modern-style armchairs in vivid colored velvets. 

All furniture is made-to-order. To own one of their stylish creations, you can choose the type of sofa or chair you want, as well as mix and match fabrics and leathers. But be prepared to splash your cash—the starting price for the “Jude” chair in plain fabric is B33,000, while the leather “Sadler” sofa is B92,000. 

Alexander & James was founded in 2013 by creative furniture designer Mark “Alexander” Smith and businessman and design enthusiast David “James” Lee, and has come to be synonymous with statement, “laid back luxe” sofas with classic British looks.
