Buzz: Amsterdam’s hip clothing and accessories retailer Scotch & Soda has just opened up shop in CentralWorld.

Décor: Cozy and stylish with its wooden floor, dim lights, tropical plants and an assortment of framed street fashion pictures lining the khaki and black walls. Men’s goods are in one section, women’s in the other.

Goods: Urban apparel with a hip vintage aesthetic. The menswear spans t-shirts, shirts, chinos, jeans and jackets, while women’s pieces highlight sweaters, tank tops, and pants. Men’s pieces make use of unusual colors like red wine, orange, turquoise and emerald, detailed touches like print pockets and ripped details on chinos for that raw meets vintage design. Womenswear sees texturized tops, jackets and sweaters that blend different colors, with an emphasis on tartan and check patterns. The use of quality fabrics and neat cuts are especially evident here, especially on shirts and pants. Both men and women’s tops start from B1,900, pants from B4,500 and jackets from B4,000.

Why you’ll be back: Prices here are definitely high, but the shop does carry many pieces that emphasize quality materials built for the long-haul and has some nice twists on some timeless designs.
