Truefitt & Hill
The buzz: Men’s grooming is a trend sweeping Bangkok, as evidenced by the new wave of independent barbershops like The Three Brothers, Blue Harbour and, the latest, Black Amber. Now Central Embassy welcomes the city’s first branch of England’s oldest barbershop, Truefitt & Hill, offering oldschool services in a fittingly handsome setting.
The décor: Truefitt & Hill keeps the traditional gentlemen’s club style of its original store in London. The reception of the shop sees wooden shelves displaying a wide range of the brand’s products while the grooming room offers three exclusive barber chairs.
The services and prices: A shampoo and finish (20 minutes) starts from B550 while a Royal Hair Cut is B1,100 (45 minutes) and includes shampoo, cut and styling. A traditional hot towel face shave and head shave is B1,000 for 30 minutes. The shop also offers a facial hair wax, where you can choose from ears, nose, eyebrows and cheeks at B300 for each spot. As for spa services, right now there’s only manicure (B550/30mins) and pedicure (B1,100/60mins) available, but they will soon offer face and head massages. Truefitt & Hill products are also on sale and include shaving cream (B1,300), aftershave balm (B2,700) and styling paste (B1,500), as well as tools like razors (B5,000-11,000) and shaving brushes (B5,400-6,400). Do note, you need to make a reservation at least three days in advance.
