Exotissimo Art Gallery

The concept: Exotissimo Travel, one of the city’s leading travel agencies, has expanded into the art world by creating its own gallery on the second floor of its travel shop. With support from the also recently opened Toot Yung Gallery, you can expect a great variety of works from Southeast Asian artists. Other than exhibitions—held bi-monthly, the gallery will also look to organize fun stuff like an art gallery tour and a series of workshops.

The décor: Fronted by a floor-to-ceiling glass panel, the two-story space is dominated by wooden furniture and plenty of plants. The reception area sees a polished cement floor and tall wooden bookshelves. The gallery sits on the second floor, and is decked out in the standard gallery coating of bright white paint.

The crowd: Fans of Southeast Asian art and the travel agency’s curious customers.

At present: What Lies Within Us by sculptor-turned-painter Haritorn Akarapat, a collaborative exhibition with Toot Yung Gallery.

In the future: An exhibition from Chiang Mai artist, starting Nov 18.
