After launching as the world’s first underwater nightclub in 2012, Subsix (ow.ly/OPgPI) has undergone a lavish renovation and rebranded itself as an "underground playground.”

Now, you can also enjoy a boozy Champagne breakfast, laid-back lunch or even hold a wedding reception 6-meters below the water’s surface, too.

The venue's formerly sleek interior has been dressed up, the crisp black leather seats have been replaced by chairs resembling sea porcupines beneath a ceiling of hanging circular shells. The venue’s centerpiece, a luminescent clam-shaped bar, glows in shades of white in the morning before transforming into a lavender hue come lunchtime and turning deep blue after dark.

The floor-to-ceiling windows also make for a beautiful view of exotic sea creatures such as moray eels and hawksbill turtles. The venue also plans to host more DJ nights, parties and wine tastings, as well as tours led by a marine biologist.

Subsix is located 500 meters off-shore from Niyama island, in the Maldives’ Dhaalu Atoll, and guests must take a speedboat to reach the venue.
