Thai Airways’ low-cost subsidiary THAI Smile (www.thaismileair.com) just launched direct flights to Chongqing and Changsa, two south-central Chinese cities rich with history and culture. Once an important commercial inland port in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Chongqing’s attractions include the 1,000-year-old town Ciqikou and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Furong Cave in Wulong Karst National Geology Park. Changsa, the capital city of Hunan Province, is home to the world-famous Mawangdui Tombs from the Han Dynasty and the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Wulingyuan Scenic Area.
