Thanks to the coup, hotels in Thailand and airlines are slashing prices on stays and flights. And if you're taking advantage of the situation and making a trip to Phuket, there's a spanking new (and somewhat bizarre) attraction on the island to check out.

Located at Bypass Road (between Premium Outlet and Siam Niramit), Baan Teelanka (which means upside-down house in Thai) is a three-storey house is furnished entirely (umm, yes) upside down, with everything hanging from the ceiling—couches, beds and even bathtubs. There's also a 1,000 square meter garden labyrinth at the back of the house, called A-Maze-in-Phuket, created by UK maze designer Adrian Fisher. Entry fees are THB200 (S$7.70) to enter Baan Teelanka, and THB150 (S$5.77) to get yourself lost in A-Maze-in-Phuket.

Inspired by this news, we went on to dig further for other unusual, offbeat (read: less touristy) attractions around Asia for you to add to your travel itinerary: there's this house in China that's styled like a piano; this building in Hyderabad that's designed to look like a giant fish; and this cafe in South Korea designed to look like an enormous vintage camera. Weird, but cool.
