Nok Air (www.nokair.com) is now flying to Ranong, making it easier than ever for you to visit the Southern region’s natural hot springs for a little weekend bath (The Yunomori Onsen in Soi 26 uses spring water from there!). Or go a bit further and check out the serene Koh Phayam on the Thai-Burmese border. There are two flights a day, operated by a 34-seat Saab 340B, leaving Don Muang Airport at 6:25am and 1:20pm. The plane is small so it takes around 1.5 hours—but, hey, that’s a lot faster than a 10-hour drive. Ticket starts from a reasonable B1,690.
