Many new phones have been unveiled in recent months, most notably a new series from Blackberry and, of course, Apple’s hotly anticlimactic iPhone 4S (RIP, Steve). Not to be left behind, Nokia has finally made its flagship Nokia N9 model available in Thailand. Apart from its cute candy-colors, N9 is one of the very few phones in the world that runs MeeGo 1.2, a Linux-based operating system that supports multitasking multimedia and entertainment. There’s no home screen so everything is controlled by swiping and touching. It also features a 3.9” AMOLED screen, 8MP camera, Ovi Maps, Nokia Music Store and lots of top-notch functions. The phone is perfect for geeks who want something different. But be warned: Nokia is likely to ditch Symbian or MeeGo for Windows Mobile 8 for its new phones, so that means you won’t have many apps supported in the future. Hold your breath for our hands-on review.
