VUUDH Aromatic Diffuser Star Fruit

Why it’s great: Dramatic and sculptural, this vase-like object channels aromatic oils into branch-like reeds. Entirely made of glass, it combines a minimal tube surrounding a star-fruit-shaped vessel at its heart, suspended as if in levitation.
Designer: Suchaya Chuchart (Vuudh)
Price: B1,400, 1/F, Groove @ CentralWorld, Rama 1 Rd. www.vuudh.com

Khan Kluay

Why it’s great: Inspired by how Thai children used to make rifles from banana leaves, this hat stand and coat hanger is made from solid oakwood. We like that the pegs can be folded back, creating a single pole when not in use, a neat feature for tiny spaces.
Designer: Chayanin Sakdikul and Nutdanai Siribongkot (Hari Ora)
Price: B3,900, www.hariora.com

Epoch Collection

Why it’s great: These handmade ceramic items are available in pastel colors and streamlined shapes with a resolutely contemporary feel. Still, their handmade quality and timeless shapes hark back to ancient times. Available as plates, bowls, a teapot, water bottle and even shampoo and soap dispensers.
Designer: Decha Archjananun (Prempracha's Collection)
Price: from B250, www.prempracha.com

Be Leaf

Why it’s great: These ceramic coasters not only look cool on your coffee table, but their leaf pattern actually helps absorb water droplets from your glass. No more getting annoyed at your glass sticking to the coaster—we like.
Designer: Mr. Prakobsuk Yudee (Dhanabadee Art Ceramic)
Price: B90, available at Talad Eathai, Central Embassy, Phloen Chit Rd. www.dhanabadee.com

Bugbeat

Why it’s great: These stones made of glass waste are like a sponge that absorbs aromatic oils and then slowly diffused them in the air. Conveniently, they are here kept together in a woven bamboo case. Bugbeat also makes its own oils, such as citronella, clove or sweet basil, all of which are known for their mosquito repellent properties.
Designer: Phalatt Leowkijsiri (Bugbeat)

Nature Made Eco Eraser Packaging

Why it’s great: This fairly minimal eraser is made of scallop shells (100-percent nontoxic and natural). What won it an award is the box in which it is delivered to retailers, which transforms into a product stand and comes with beautifully designed symbols to tout the product’s all-natural cred.
Designer: Chanchalad Khanjanawong (Grey Ray)
Price: B75, available at any B2S, BeTrend and at www.gray-ray.com

ANU Collection

Why it’s great: This lamp pendant is 100-percent natural. But the material used to make this lamp isn’t just reusable or recyclable, it is biodegradable as each piece of the compressed material is put together using pressure and water—no chemicals added.
Designer: Anon Pairot (Eqologist)
Price: B18,880, available at Anyroom, The Jam Factory. www.eqologist.com

Many Go Round Collection

Why it’s great: Inspired by plastic trays used in industrial freezers, which are narrow and stackable, these trays made from wood-plastic composites are eco-friendly and versatile. Use them as a serving tray, a storage box and a table—perfect for Bangkok's cramped condos.
Designer: Kanin Chuenmeechow (Many Go Round)
Price: B1,990, www.manygoround.com

Holder Folder Cutting Mat #A4

Why it’s great: Created by a group of architect-turned-designers, this clutch bag is made from the rubber cutting mats you’ll see in every architecture studio. The natural rubber is not only strong enough to resist a box cutter, but it is also waterproof, UV-resistant and non-toxic.
Designer: Teerapol Akaratiwa and Warunya Nuntasunti (Least Studio)
Price: B1,490, www.leaststudio.com

Fingerjoint

Why it’s great: This elegant black, vegetable-tanned leather tote bag is made without any stitching or glue. Instead the straps are held on by a traditional Thai binding method while the bag’s bottom is held in place using a technique taken from wood joinery. Added benefit: the strap can be removed and comes in three sizes.
Designer: Ittidej Lirapirom (The Sleeveless Garden)

Price: B4,300, available at Chatuchak Weekend Market, Section 4, Soi 47/1, Room 018. www.thesleevelessgarden.com

Raya

Why it’s great: Made of solid wood like walnut, ash and teak, this bench takes its name for the Thai word for distance. That’s because its unique design tapers at its ends, allowing friends to huddle in the middle, or strangers to sit at each end.
Designer: Inthanu Faromkao (Matter of Mind)
Price: from B17,000, www.fb.com/mombkk

Feather

Why it’s great: The Addams Family would approve of these Gothic sidetables where an intricate steel mesh in the shape of black wings supports the tabletop.
Designer: Apiwat Chitapanya
Price: B25,000, www.fb.com/prob2decor

Easy Wing

Why it’s great: This black steel and oakwood coffee table is inspired by a dragonfly’s wing. The craftsmanship, in particular the ironwork, is stunning. Use them as end tables or get two to form a complete dragonfly.
Designer: Apiwat Chitapanya
Price: B12,000, www.fb.com/prob2decor

Grid Collection

Why it’s great: The chair’s structure is made of galvanized steel, an industrial material used outdoors for its highly durable nature. This chair should last 50 years even in outdoor conditions, but its rough industrial look will look right at home in your exposed-brick interior, too.
Designer: Krit Phutpim

Price: B11,200, www.uniongalvanizer.com
