After having canceled its popular bi-annual book sale in May due to Covid-19 restrictions, Neilson Hays Library is bouncing back with a scaled down book fair from Jun 27-Jul 26

Rather than the usual outdoor free-for-all, the second-hand book sale will be held at the library’s garden cafe. Due to the limited space and to encourage social distancing, only 10 people will be allowed to browse at a time and the selection of books will be replenished with new titles each day. On top of this, the library will enact standard safety measures, including a mandatory face mask policy, temperature screening, hand sanitizer and a sign-in system at the cafe's entrance.

Like always, the event will give bibliophiles a chance to browse through a curated selection of fiction and non-fiction English language books, at bargain prices starting as low as B20. While Neilson Hays totes can be purchased at the cashier, all visitors are encouraged to bring their own tote bags in order to help reduce waste.

Those who have any unwanted books to contribute can drop them off at the library between 9:30am-5pm, Tue-Sun. All proceeds will go towards the upkeep of the library’s landmark building and their educational and arts programs.
