Join The Dilmah Real High Tea Global Challenge 2015!

In partnership with some of the world’s best hospitality venues and restaurants, Dilmah launched the Dilmah Real High Tea Challenge back in 2007. Judged by a panel of experts, celebrated chefs from all around the world will compete to create the most innovative and flavorful pairings and tea-inspired dishes revolving around real tea. The Dilmah Real High Tea Challenge for Cafes and Restaurants involves some of the most celebrated venues in Bangkok, ushering in our 21st century afternoon tea revolution and demonstrating high tea is a culinary experience that goes well beyond cucumber sandwiches. The competition also aims to strengthen tea appreciation all over the world. In fact, the winner of the Dilmah Real High Tea Challenge for Cafes and Restaurants will be invited to Sri Lanka to deepen their knowledge of tea in its most reputed growing region. Visit these participating venues (see below), join our movement for redefining afternoon tea for the 21st century and witness the crowning of the Global Real Tea Champion.

Not only is the place surrounded by a huge garden, the house also resembles one inside, with pastel green walls, flower arrangements and decorative artificial vines clinging to chandeliers. In the evening, the air-conditioned dining area is full of life as the chic downtown crowd let their hair down to enjoy a lingering dinner.

CHIANG MAI

Wanlamun

This iconic dessert cafe started off serving Thai desserts more than 10 years ago. The owner's daughter, who's also behind the famous cakes at Let Them Eat Cake, added French pastries to the shop and turned it into a veritable one-stop destination for sweets. Recommended Thai desserts are the tua paeb (rice crepe filled with mung beans) and kanom sod sai (coconut milk custard
filled with coconuts) while popular French options include the rose St.Honore and the Thai tea tart.

Don’t limit yourself to the cute cupcakes, though, as the sorbet ice cream is very refreshing. Of Mont Blanc’s four branches, the outlet on Nimmanhaemin Soi 2, a 70’s-style house, is the cutest and most private. The chef here also organizes baking classes for groups of four to eight people.
