Upmarket teppanyaki steakhouse and master of good Tripadvisor reviews, Nami at the JW Marriott, has rolled out a new menu that’s not just about meat but also veg.

Head chef Yukio Takeda starts his dinners with Vietnamese-like wraps seared teppan-style and stuffed with corn and prawn (B380) before moving onto the good stuff: A5 wagyu rolls (B1,800) paired with full-flavored shallots, mushrooms and a thick wagyu sauce.

To leave reeling from a food coma, order the fried rice with diced wagyu (B420)—a hefty portion that plays on all the best flavors of a Japanese-style curry. For dessert, the pan-fried homemade green tea mochi stuffed with red bean appears simple but tastes the opposite.
