Bunker

Fresh, simple, well-executed, original yet devoid of gimmicks, there's a reason why the food at Bunker has been more hotly anticipated than any other restaurant this year. Some of the menu's 16 dishes verge on tapas portions, but the flavors are anything but small:  the wagyu beef tartar is spiked with daikon radish and radish sprouts; the cured foie gras torchon paired with candied cashew and chili mango; the smoky plate of fatty wagyu short rib falls from the bone in perfectly glazed, inch-thick slices. The space's craggy concrete lines are also something of a novelty, softened by turquoise banquettes and octogonal globes of light.

Cocotte

With its big, France-imported rotisserie set up in the middle of the open-plan kitchen, this Sukhumvit Soi 39 restaurant serves up roasted chicken, Australian wagyu tomahawk and Sloane's pork chop. Another highlight dish is the Crispy Pig, tender-roasted pork belly with honey-beer glaze and caramelized apple. Veggies lovers aren't left out. The Happy Vegetables salad features 12-15 kinds of Royal Project vegetables, all cooked differently with cabbage vinaigrette. Contributing to a warm, communal vibe, one corner is dedicated to a deli kiosk highlighting more than 15 selections of European cheese and meats like Parma ham and paleta Iberico. To drink, there's a large selection of wine and cocktails.

Eastbound

From its bold red and black decor to the skateboards and associated stickers, there's not much to suggest Eastbound is a Vietnamese restaurant. But this is your not your average Vietnamese. Here, on the ground floor of The Commons, the focus is on "Californian-style" banh mi (Vietnamese sandwiches) featuring warm, stir-fried fillings instead of the traditional cold cuts, served in a light and crispy house-made baguette. Don’t miss the juicy, slightly spicy duck option, which comes with pickled carrot and daikon, cilantro, pate, mayo and Sriracha sauce. You can also find staples like fresh summer rolls, pho and sugarcane shrimp here, too.

Sorrento

This Italian restaurant had been a Sathorn mainstay in various forms since 1989. The menu restaurant spotlights traditional Italian and European dishes and a well-priced wine list amid a fittingly elegant design. Classics include the Pizza Sorrento, two layers of crispy crust sandwiching ham, rocket, tomato and mascarpone cheese, and the herb-stuffed, grilled lamb rack with ratatouille and spinach. One highlight is the pasta cacio e pepe (cheese and pepper), made in a large Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese wheel with flamed cognac to melt the cheese. The drinks list covers the not-to-be-missed The Don, a sweet and smoky drink that mixes Chivas Regal Extra with port wine, cherry syrup, a dash of Peychaud’s bitters and smoked rosemary.

Sourced

This petite grocery store does a whole line of quality produce like grains, spices, nut butters, kombucha teas, stevia-sweetened juices and even alcoholic lemon juice, but it also offers a solid meal thanks to the sizable deli section. Heady cheeses like comte, truffle gouda and 18-month aged mimolette line the counter along with a whole bunch of cold cuts. The hot kitchen will also whip up customized sandwiches, mac 'n' cheese with truffle oil, mushroom, fontina and mascarpone cheese, grilled chicken sandwiches with avocado and semi dried tomato and the crusty crab burger featuring a tasty crab cake, jalapeno, Gruyere and cheddar cheese between Conkey's brioche bun.

Honey

Taking over the spot formerly belonging to Roast on Seenspace’s second floor, this equally stylish all-day brunch cafe follows a honey theme that’s established through the use of light wood, copper lamps, and yellow upholstery and cushions. The kitchen rolls out easy bites ranging from wild mushroom soup, seafood salad and pasta to breakfast dishes like eggs Benedict. They also incorporate honey in many of the dishes like honey-glazed chicken wings, honey Caesar Parmigiano crisp salad and the chicken waffles, which sees croissant waffles and crispy fried chicken served with honey ginger sauce. You’ll note the use of honey in signature cocktails like Queen Bee’s Split (honey whiskey, orange and rosemary.

Sun Street Panini

Right across from Phra Sumen Fort, this is one seriously cute Italian restaurant. Florence-hailing chef Spartak "Luca" Gjoni whips up home-cooked, Tuscany-inspired dishes like lasagne duck sauce and, our favorite, calamari ripieno, which sees stuffed squid with homemade sausage, boiled egg and parmesan cheese, cooked in tomato sauce. The chef makes his own sausage, porchetta, bread (try it in one of the paninis) and tortelli (stuffed pasta). Finish your meal with tiramisu or apple cake.
