Not as far-fetched as it sounds, Shala One Ostrich & Wine Bar (Sanambinnam Market Park, Nonthaburi, 02-526-9292. www.shalaonewine.co.th) combines one family’s two businesses. It’s decorated to resemble a wine cellar and features an open kitchen so you can admire the chef’s handiwork. Spaghetti pad kee mao alone may not set the pulse racing, but why not try it with ostrich (B195). Don’t worry, the menu’s not all flightless bird, there are also dishes like a salmon burger with banana mayo (B150) and New Zealand lamb cutlets with mint sauce (B410).
