Silom's short-lived, but cult-favorite, cocktail bar The 88 is waving goodbye this Friday, Oct 19.

The Facebook event page for the final party cuts straight to the point, “Yup that’s a wrap. Unfortunately things haven’t worked out for us at the 88 and so we move on. We’d like to invite and thank all of you for your support.”

Taking over the cramped Surawong shop-house that was once Smokin’ Pug in late-2017, this American-themed haunt quickly found favor as a real bartenders’ bar (thanks in part to the involvement of boutique alcohol importer Bootleggers), with industry insiders and punters alike vouching for the old-school cocktails and hearty comfort food.

For the farewell, there will be barbecue from Ash Kickers featuring smoked beef brisket plates, beef brisket and pulled pork bao sandwiches, plus special prices on drinks all night.

5pm, Oct 19. The 88, 88 Surawong Rd., 081-829-7189
