There's a new contender for the coolest convenience store in Bangkok

Set to open tomorrow (May 12), a new branch of Family Mart at Holiday Inn Silom (981 Silom Rd.) will sell an extensive range of Thai craft beers from its fridge.

The news was confirmed by a Facebook post on Thai Imported Beer, a page dedicated to charting the rise of legally brewed craft beers in Thailand.

On a shelf surrounded by a familiar names like Singha, Leo and Heineken, you'll find beers from leading independent breweries such as Sandport, Lamzing and Stonehead.

There will also be a few cool international beers like Mexican Day of The Dead to go with the likes of Hoegaarden and Budweiser.

"It's a pilot branch to test the market," says Ted Ahn, the owner of Changwon Express bar, whose canned Asoke Pale Ale will also be found in the fridge. "If all goes well, they will expand it to their other branches."

The Thai craft beers will be priced at B149-159.
