Kino Fest

 
From Oct 25-Nov 5, get your tickets to the latest in German cinema coming to Thailand. Kino Fest 2023 will be hosted at nine venues across seven provinces: Hat Yai’s Songkla, Bangkok, Salaya’s Nakhon Pathom, Nakhon Ratchasima, Phitsanulok, Chiang Mai, and Phayao. Beyond Animation

 
 
Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phayao residents are in luck. The award-winning international animation—spanning rom coms to dystopias—are hitting the big screens near you. Next Generation: Emerging Directors Exhibition & Hong Kong Film Gala Presentation

 
At House Samyan, get to know the industry’s leading names behind Hong Kong’s latest hits including A Guilty Conscience, A Light Never Goes Out, Hong Kong Family, and Over My Dead Body. The event also has an exhibition detailing up-and-coming directors and the various filmmaking techniques recognizable in HK movies. The best part? Krung Thep Klang Plaeng

 
 
 
Back by popular demand, Krung Thep Klang Plaeng is coming back to town after much interest in last year’s activities. An eclectic screening of Thai classics and international films will occur at outdoor venues all over Bangkok. The festival goes all the way to Nov 12, free entry. October 2023 at The Friese Greene Club

This month, the Sukhumvit based cinema club—Friese Greene—has, as ever, a stacked and star studded list of internationally acclaimed films, featuring the works of Pedro Almodovar, Darren Aronofsky, Zhang Yimou, and more. The spot is also hosting “quirky 80s” films every Wednesday and John Carpenters’ films every Tuesday to get in the Halloween spirit. Book here.


Halloween Special at The Neighbourhood

If you’re not into gore or jump scares, the list of Halloween movies at The Neighbourhood will put you at ease. Screening every Fri-Sun, at the venue’s outdoor garden, the selection covers Hocus Pocus, Death Becomes Her, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and other campy cult classics. RCB Film Club: Nosferatu


Mark your calendars on Oct 21, as RCB Film Club partners up with Goethe-Institut to bring you F.W. Marnau’s Nosferatu. Originally released in 1922, the silent film is based on the gothic novel “Bram Stoker’s Dracula”. For the price of 100 baht, watch one of the first vampires in cinematic history ahead of its highly anticipated 2024 version directed by Robert Eggers. Tickets here.
