Noise Market

NOV 21-22: Catch Live Indie Music

This weekend gives you the chance to combine two things that Bangkok does amazingly: pop-up markets and live music! Noise Market 5 takes over the grounds of Museum Siam with edgy acts from Comet Records and Parinam Music, plus special shows by Indonesia’s White Shoes & The Couples Company and electro-pop act Cyndi Seui. For something more cutesy, Dream Castle Fest 2015, said to be the first “American Indian themed” market, presents local alt queens Yellow Fang, Jelly Rocket and Aey The Voice to what was formerly Wonderland fun park.

NOV 27-29: Enter the World of MixMash

Calling all Bangkok foodies. The three-day MixMash Festival, taking place right opposite CentralWorld, aims to be a one-of-a-kind fusion fair of food and music. Highlights will include an exclusive dinner by the Michelin-starred Casamia restaurant from Bristol, DJ Yoda, DJ Stevie Z, live pancake art to the soundtrack of Thai xylophone by the "World’s First Professional Pancake Artist" Dancakes and a fantasy cotton candy-making show by Russia’s Cotton Candy King and DJ Pichy. Don’t expect the typical food trucks and stalls there, either, as all participating chefs and vendors have prepared their dishes exclusively for the festival. Grab your tickets now at goo.gl/mZm4Ex, with a special B300 food voucher on offer.

DEC 5-7: Say Happy Father’s Day!

Prepare to be stuck in traffic if you’re going out of town this long weekend. Good news for the rest of us; that also means the city is going to be relatively empty. If you’re more of a runner than a cyclist, forget Bike For Dad. Run For The King 2015, organized by Kluaynamthai Foundation, is open for registration now at www.runfortheking.org. You can also bring your dad for the 2km fun-run. For something more conventional, we suggest going to Rattanakosin at night, where Ratchadamnoen Avenue and Sanam Luang will be closed for pedestrians, decorated with golden lights against the night sky.

Winter Market Fest by Sansiri

DEC 12-13: Get Festive Early

Because what would winter be without Christmas markets? Some of the best make a comeback this weekend. Winter Market Fest by Sansiri returns for the third time in a romantic atmosphere across San Samran Bridge in On Nut, while The Great Outdoor Market is finally back in the original spectacular venue of the Bangkok Docklands near BTS Saphan Taksin (get those cameras out!) to celebrate the 150 years of the Bangkok Docklands Company. If you’re looking for a more conventional shopping spree, look out for Bangkok Boxing Day happening the same weekend at Royal Paragon Hall, organized by the same team behind Zaap On Sale.

Wonder Fruit

DEC 19-20: Go Out of Town

With the end of the year approaching that means it’s music festival season. This week sees two of the biggest take place a relatively quick trip out of town. Now in its 7th year, the biggest annual musical gathering of Thai artists Big Mountain Music Festival is moving into a new venue at Kaeng Krachan Country Club (Phetchaburi Province). For something more diverse, Wonderfruit takes over the Fields of Siam Country Club Pattaya.

Spring Epicurean Market

DEC 25-27: Celebrate the Year-End!

It’s finally Christmas Day! And it also happens to be another long weekend. Not particularly big on home-cooked Christmas meals? Rest assured you’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to festive lunches and dinners across the city. Those already announced include Stop the Clock X-Mas Brunch at The Kitchen Table (W Bangkok) and Christmas Specials at Red Sky (Centara). For a more laid-back Christmas, though, we suggest heading to Spring & Summer for the very last Spring Epicurean Market, guaranteed to be festive, fun and organic.
