Easily Singapore's most beloved indie bookstore, BooksActually in Tiong Bahru is always up to something interesting, whether its putting out new books through its in-house imprint Math Paper Press, holding parties for the Singapore Poetry Writing Month nerds or organizing the delightful annual Singapore Art Book Fair. Add to that their latest and quirkiest new venture.

BooksActually has just installed two of what will eventually be three book vending machines around town. The first two are at National Museum Singapore and the Singapore Visitor Centre on Orchard Road, and there are plans to install a third one at the National Arts Council HQ at Goodman Arts Centre by mid-June.

On sales are titles like Joshua Ip's poetry collection Sonnets from the Singlish, The Resident Tourist, Troy Chin's autobiographical graphic novel and Amanda Lee Koe's short story collection Ministry of Moral Panic, which just won the Singapore Book Prize for fiction.
