10am: Have breakfast at Hawker Chan

Move over Tim Ho Wan, another Michelin-starred cheap eat has arrived at Terminal 21. Singapore's Liao Fan Hong Kong Soya Chicken Rice & Noodles was one of just two street-food stalls to be awarded a star in the first edition of the country's Michelin Guide in 2016. Claiming to offer the world's cheapest Michelin-starred meal, the restaurant lets you pair your choice of meat (soya sauce chicken, char siu, roast pork belly or pork rib) with rice, hor fun (rice noodles) or egg noodles, with prices ranging from B88-120). You can get a whole chicken at B580, too.

5/F, Terminal 21, Sukhumvit Rd. Open daily 10am-10pm

11am: Shop for Thai designer finds at Terminal 21

One of the few big malls in Bangkok packed with Thai-owned brands, ranging from chic fashion items to neat finds like stuffed animals. We recommend spending most of your time hunting for unique trinkets and avoiding the big-name stores (most of which are on the lower levels), you’ll walk away with more interesting loot and support Thai designers in the process. The mall is huge, so you’ll have no problem spending a few hours hopping from restaurant to café to shop.

1-3/F, 88 Sukhumvit Soi 19, 02-108-0888. Open daily 10am-10pm

1pm: Grab a burger from Bangkok's former official culinary team at Chunky

A good recap of the trending cafe-culture décor, everything points to a warm and welcoming vibe. Step inside and you’ll see the coffee and bakery counter on your right, where the chefs bake their own bread and pastries fresh on site. Go full-on comfort-food with the all-American Chunky beef burger (B370), brunch dishes like the croque madame-derived “holy cheese burger” (B380) and the Benedict burger (B375). To drink, try hot chocolate truffle (B150), which sees house-made chocolate truffles and hot milk served separately.

110/1 Sukhumvit Soi 23, 091-742-4094. Open Tue-Sun 11am-10pm

3pm: Dig out bohemian vintage finds and stop for coffee at It's Happened to Be a Closet

The old house-turned-lifestyle shop is bigger than every previous outlet, offering a fashion shop, gift corner, restaurant zone, nail service, foot massage and different workshops throughout the week. Highly recommended workshops include jewelry making (B4,500/every Thursday) and bouquet art (B5,000/every Saturday). The menu here focuses on Western comfort dishes like fresh oysters, salads and pasta. Do check their Facebook page for one-off specials like blue mussels. Booking ahead is never a bad idea.

5pm: Have a massage at Health Land

Set in a grand, Thai-style building, the Health Land in Asoke remains one of the most popular spas in Bangkok thanks to its clean facilities, well-trained staff and wallet-friendly prices. You can grab a two-hour traditional Thai massage at a very reasonable price, and, unlike most street-side massage shops, the brand’s Thai massages are done in private rooms.

55/5 Sukhumvit Soi 21. Open daily 9am-11pm

8pm: Dinner at Attico

A Tuscan-inspired restaurant sitting on the 28th floor, Attico welcomes guests with a maze of towering wine barrel stacks. Tall glass windows and a balcony offer wide-open views of the Bangkok skyline. Here, the chef uses ingredients from Lombardy and Tuscany, along with artisanal products from Thailand, to put together a Tuscan menu. Don’t miss the Tortelli Di Nagro (B490), with house-made tortellini cooked perfectly al dente. As for die-hard meat fanatics, the grilled Australian Wagyu (B420/100gr) with roasted potatoes, grilled vegetables and red wine shallot reduction is hearty enough for small groups.

At Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok, Sukhumvit Soi 27, 02-302-3333. Open daily 12-2.30pm; 6-11pm

10pm: Cocktails at Q&A

Hidden inside a little alley, this ’20s New York-style speakeasy bar comes courtesy of the local cocktail specialists behind many of the best drink menus in town. They keep things classic with a few twists, including the innovative use of uncommon ingredients, as well as infusions and smoke. Try the Comte De Monte Cristo (B420), which has an interesting nutty aroma, based on port wine infused with Ethiopian coffee and toasted pecan, mixed with Amaro Montenegro and Diplomatico Exclusiva 12 Year Old rum.

235/13 Sukhumvit Soi 21, 02-664-1445. Open daily 7pm-2am
