Who says you can’t celebrate Mother’s Day after August? From Sep 1-Oct 4, Ardel Gallery of Modern Art will be hosting Mother’s World, a series of art about the love between a mother and her children by Thai contemporary artist Ruthairat Kumsrichan.

Having first-hand experience raising a child of her own, the artist portrays the love and connection between a mother and child through acrylic and organic color paintings, embroideries, papier-mâché and pottery. In each of these works, the shapes and composition of the figures are meant to illustrate affection and bonds.

Ruthairat Kumsrichan is an artist and art instructor in the Faculty of Painting Sculpture and Graphic Arts at Silpakorn University. She is known for her embroidery techniques, which convey feminine tenderness, as well as the use of delicate materials in her work.

Ardel Gallery of Modern Art, Boromrachachonnanee Rd., 02-422-2092. Open Tue-Sat 10:30am-7pm; Sun 10:30am-5:30pm
