On Jul 31, the relatively unspoiled Bang Saray area of Pattaya welcomed the Cartoon Network Amazone water park (038-237-707, www.cartoonnetworkamazone.com). The park is aimed at children, with live shows and meet-and-greet sessions with Cartoon Network’s popular characters such as Ben 10, The Powerpuff Girls and Johnny Bravo. Day passes are B1,290 for Thai nationals and residents and B890 for children and seniors over 65 years old. Annual passes are now available online at special rates.

SplashDown Waterpark
SplashDown Waterpark (092-228-6065, www.splashdownwaterparkpattaya.com) sits on eight rai of land near Bira International Circuit, and offers nine stations of water-obstacle games like the world’s tallest inflatable waterslide (50ft high). Too intense? There is a children’s zone too. Tickets are B650 per person for Thai residents, B1,500 for tourists and B200 for people who just want to enter the park without using the games. Helmets, life vests and safety shoes are provided. Open daily from 9am-6pm.

Vana Nava Hua Hin Water Jungle
Set to open in Hua Hin later this year, Vana Nava (www.vananava.com) boasts Thailand’s tallest waterslide, Boomerango, as well as the country’s first Abyss, an award-winning slide that allows up to six friends to soar from a height of 28 meters. Other highlights include a bodyboard and surf simulator and the AquaLoop, which reaches speeds of 60km/h.
